The “Cycle Tourism” Bikeness routes have become even more nature-oriented by concentrating on unpaved and gravel roads: ways used by shepherds in the old days for moving their flocks. These are easy routes, accessible to everyone. MTBs, Hybrid Bikes or E-Bikes are all suitable for cycling through the wonderful countryside of Romagna and the Marche. On Thursday, there’s a visit to the “Roberta Frontali olive oil-makers’ at San Lorenzo. It includes an explanation of the olive oil-making process and the system of organic production. Then there’s the cheese-tasting, enjoying the aromatic flavours of the “caciotta” (fresh) and “stagionato” (mature) cheese, accompanied by blackberry or mulberry and mint jelly, home-baked bread made from stone-ground flour and a beaker of Sangiovese di Romagna wine. To finish, you can enjoy a dessert of ricotta with delicious apricot and lavender preserve.
