San Leo: cycling in Italy, from the sea to the top af the hill.
Today was the most Amazing day, cycling in Italy from Riccione!
Marcello was our guide in Cappucino Light and he was very patient. My group was filled with new friends from Vermont and Israel.
Cycling in Italy from the hotel to San Leo and back. It was the most rewarding and scenic day of my week long vacation thus far. 102 kilometers with 1306 meters in elevation. The first 50 km was mainly climbing. The vistas from many directions were quite spectacular.
Vistas that went on for miles and miles with many layers and heights of mountains, the landscape lush and green. We arrived in San Leo, the walled ancient city to a hilly, cobblestoned entryway.
Our rest break was filled with laughter, joy and smiles all the way around! We had made it up the long climb! Drinking coca cola and eating chips, getting fortified for the ride down. Before leaving the walls of San Leo, our guide took us to the lookout point to get the panoramic view of the area.
Spectacular! We descended the mountain and made our way back to Hotel Dory with mostly downhill riding.
Arriving back at the hotel, I was dazed, happy and content in my riding and lovely day.
The evening was capped off with wonderful food, drink and friendship.
