2014: Monte Petrano – Thursday 3 April – Thursday 2 October – For bikers who love a challenge!
Thursday 3 April 2014
Thursday 2 October 2014
Dedicated to lovers of difficulty!
197 kilometres and 2697 metres of altitude difference for an action-packed day of real cycling, only for the well-trained and expert bikers of the Limoncino group, a personal challenge but also a trial of endurance as they compete with their fellow riders, always with the spirit of sportsmanship, enjoyment and exploration typical of the Dory philosophy.
The landscapes are magnificent, and the Monte Petrano plateau, after about 10 km of hairpin bends on mountain roads with average gradients of 8%, is amazing for its sheer beauty, with vast expanses of green uplands at an altitude of 1100 metres. The downward slopes are technically difficult and very entertaining for riders aiming for a perfect trajectory!
The route passes twice through the splendidly attractive city of Urbino, and then Tavoleto, Urbania, Cagli and the Furlo Pass, which regular Hotel Dory guests will know very well by now, but always well worth a visit and a stop to admire its beauty.
